Just The Two Of Us
Latest COVID-19 restriction is limiting a gathering of people to two. So the only people at The Bullshitters Arms for the foreseeable future are Barbara and myself. All I can say is it's a bloody good job that we get along so well. I guess there are testing times ahead for everyone, but I feel we are well placed to get through them.. We have our bar, our music, Netflix and each other.

Sensible Behaviour
Good to see sensible behaviour at the supermarkets has kicked in. Had to go to ALDI to get a few grocery items. The store was limiting customers so we had to queue outside (didn't take long to get in) with lines painted on the ground 1.5 metres apart to keep distance between people. There were also markings in the store and everyone was respectful of keeping a safe distance. Seems the stores have got everything under control now, unlike the scrummage the previous weekend.
ALDI even had toilet paper!

Painting The House
We had always planned to paint our house this year and with being confined to home due to Covid-19 restrictions it has given us an activity to keep ourselves busy. We are currently working on the front of the house which I should manage to complete today (just the high up the ladder stuff left to do). We painted 'The Bullshitter's Arms' first (getting our priorities right) a couple of weeks ago. We'll take next week off before tackling the sides. It has been quite tiring for us oldies, thirsty work too which has meant that the bar has been well utilised. 😀

Shopping
We went out this morning to get vital supplies (7:00am Seniors Hour at Woolies). Woohoo, Woolies had toilet rolls, limit 1 pack, so we split up and were able to get 2 packs (can pay our friend back now, she was kind enough to lend us 4 rolls) and they had yeast for baking, which had been in short supply. It was very quiet with all the shoppers keeping their space, we stocked up with necessities then went to Bunnings and to the homebrew shop (like I said, vital supplies). Got to keep The Bullshitter's Arms going! 🍺🍺🍺

Tuesday Happy Hour
Busy day today painting the house, doing the fiddly bits, and fitting our new updated outside lights. Having a well deserved few beers at The Bullshitter's Arms. 😁🍺🍺

We're Still Open
As the nationwide closure of indoor venues, including pubs, restaurants and cafes comes into force at midday today, The Bullshitter's Arms remains open!
We can still drink beer, cider, wine and spirits in our cheerful pub atmosphere. 😀 🍺 🍷 Of course we are still practising social distancing at home.

Isolating Ourselves At Home
Well I am starting to get the hang of this social distancing and it's working out quite well for us. We are saving money by staying at home. I have brewed and kegged plenty of beer (and cider for Barbara) with more beer and cider fermenting at the moment. I am baking bread, we've got plenty of cheese - reckon I could survive OK on a ploughman's and a few pints. 🍞 🧀 🍺 🍺 🍺
Thought that amongst all the doom and gloom I would post something positive. 😃

Quiet Saturday
We were forced to go out today (needed to buy wine) and noticed a huge change from the last time we were out last Sunday. It was so quiet for a normally busy Saturday afternoon - hardly any cars on the roads and shops that we saw were very quiet, not much on the shelves, but quiet. It was a bit like a post apocalypse scene from a movie where there were just a few people left on Earth.
It would seem that people are starting to take social distancing seriously at last.

Still No Paper
Still no toilet paper in the shops! Bare shelves along the aisles where products used to be before the hordes descended upon them in a panic buying frenzy. Now it is hard to get items that we usually buy. Looks like we will have to make a few changes.
At a time when the population should be socially distancing from others, crazy people are piling into supermarkets, pushing, shoving and filling their trolleys with stuff that they perceive may be in short supply. Well there certainly is a shortage now, caused by these panic stockpilers. Bunch of arsewipes!

Social Distancing
We are social distancing as much as we can from now on due to the quickly spreading covid-19 virus. Obviously we do need to venture out to buy food and get our medications etc., but we are making no unnecessary visits to shops or cafes. Sorry friends, if you visit us we are making no physical contact and keeping you at a distance.
My homebrewing has gone into frenzied production. If I'm going to be at home a lot, I am not going to be spending all my time sober!
